finger food for you

said; – Yes, you can call it that. And since you ask, I would like to
invite you…

Chef Of Death would like to invite you

the beginning of the end, the making of starters.

beginning of the end, is our time to show the world how much we love
the craft of gastronomic decoration. This
will be the night of thousand canapes!

– Hej C: art students. We
must decide what ingredients we need to create a thousand Canapes?
What? Oh, I understand. You want me to tell you more about this
gastronomic processed based performance art workshop.
Well, we
will create small canapes for the party. And decorate them one by
one. Every single piece will be created with the passion that comes
from your life story´s and knowledge about art. But it is of most
importance that the canapes are eatable and that every ingredient is
handled with respect and love. It is not only about what you do, but
also about how you do what you do! This is not just finger food, this
is the cure against despair.

become what you eat. You are your food.

What are you waiting for? He whispered from the door opening. Maybe
he thought he had to follow the classic vampire rule of not being
able to enter if not invited. A silly rule of courtesy for the dandy
creatures of the night. But he was no vampire, and it was not even
night time. Just another morning at the office the chef used when
figuring out the menu for next week.
She looked at him and
thought. I could show you the face of Kali, I could show you the face
of Gaiman’s Death, I could turn you inside out so we all could see
what you are made of. But not today. Today I will just keep on
writing the menu and figuring out the recipe for the next Primordial

the Chef of Death continued to write on the menu.

Chef of Death will compose a menu for Christmas, for the end of the
semester, for the end of 2010 and for the end of the universe.
menu could include an art piece, an existential question about being,
living and dying and also be festive enough for a school party?

FOOD II: What is it?

Well, this is how it started, as a course at the art academy Valand, school of fine arts.
This is ongoing…

” Welcome to FOOD II, a potluck, picnic food party, avantgarde, up in the sky underground, looking for a DIY future Restaurant course.

this summer, 2011, we will together work and create an art or artistic
restaurant of some sort. We will during the course decide how and what
this restaurant might be.

week (except for one) is connected to a sense. This sense will be the
theme for the picnic that we will hold every Friday during the course.

first week (7-10 June) is a week for you to work on your own sketching
and creating ideas and fantasies about what and how an art and food
restaurant could be.

course is based on guests that will come and have talks and workshops,
your own artistic works, discussions, picnics and surprises during the
weeks. Part of the course is also to grow some of the food that will be
used at the finishing restaurant. An important part will be how we
together decide how and what we want to fill the different Friday
picnics according to the sense theme and the guests input. The course
will finish with a one week long restaurant, a restaurant that we
together will plan and create during the course.

is not only an academic course, it is also a conceptual food and social
art work that have the intention to find new and important ways of
handling future situations concerning food. This is part of the search
for a cure against future despair.

1971 American artists Gordon Matta-Clark and Carol Gooden opened FOOD,
the legendary artist run restaurant in Soho. Providing artist-cooked
meals, a place for gathering, and even employment for artists, FOOD was
mecca for New York ‘ s vibrant experimental downtown art scene.
summer 2011, Valand summer academy hosts ”FOOD II”, a student- run
restaurant serving locally grown, student – prepared meals to the
Valand community and neighborhood (8-12 August).
preparation for the opening of the one week restaurant, ”FOOD II”,
students will research and experiment with the history of artist
collectives and communities, from Dada performance to Fluxus happenings
to today’s fusion of art, life, activism and resilient and
environmental thinking.
will also survey artist – run businesses , utopic societies , and
artists working with food and living materials in relation to locally
grown and sustainable practices. Students will research experimental
collective art practice and apply their research to innovating their own
temporary art collective. Students will learn and work collaboratively
across disciplines, with guest lectures on sustainable agriculture,
culinary arts, performance and design.”

Vem är man om man är man?

Lectures and talks Posted on 14 Sep, 2012 14:43

är man om man är man?
are you, if you are a man.
Title with a word pun)

Lecture about masculinity in contemporary society. The lecture merge different media references with the audience, the lecturer him self, how he and they dress,
moves and talk both on and of stage (or the class room).
The lecture starts with a Warhammer 40k

through material

experience the world through material, not as a resource, but as a
story about Before – NOW – After. Through the material we can get
familiar with this story and formulate new and pressing issues.
Curated by Fredric Gunve and Kajsa G. Eriksson

put material (textiles, iron, linen, copper, cherry and yard) in an
environmental cycle and into context that takes us beyond form,
object and artifact.
Through the material we ask questions of our
time. Mandatory search for identity in the imaginary digital space
but at the same time, we are body and part of the physical space
where the materials control possibilities and limits.
The price of
gold (copper, oil, cotton, birch) rises while the flow of virtual
data is increasing every second.
The material is taken with all
the senses, smell, sight, sound, touch and taste. The material
creates us as individuals, makes us who we are, what we are.
curatorial position open for a contemporary political interpretation
of the works presented, a reading and an exploration through the
environmental cycle and its political stories.

School HDK DalsLånged, and Växthuset, Trädgårds-föreningen,

Temporary Art

/// The word only make sense if you understand it as an action of
interactions, meetings, development, insight, change and
collaborations. Or, to take it even further, as a wild form of
teaching strategies. Here lies the most important part of why
art and teaching work so good together, since I define
contemporary art and teaching as cooperation and interaction.
This outlook has made both my life and my teaching more open and exciting. I have had the opportunity to use and
express myself in various art and teaching situations. I have
been the chef of death, I have been a writer, actor, explorer,
cartoonist, a sandwich making artist, and a roof climber. All of
these “careers” have pushed me into a holistic and slightly
chaotic analytical direction that have opened up ideas on
teaching and learning through playing and experimenting with
what and how art can be created.

In the beginning of my
understanding of this way of living I became frightened. I was
afraid of the feeling of not having a floor to stand on, and a
feeling of nausea by the never ending movement of the world
and time. I knew that I choose the right direction for how I
wanted to live and create, but at the same time I got scared by
the endless possibilities of this process of thinking. It was too
chaotic for me. So I realized I needed a framework and
structure to hold on to. This frame turned out to be a place on the Internet called

This internet

takes care of the myth making as part of its art practise. We
create and feed the myth about us and our art and write our
own history.
This is real, this is the story and this is why we can not stay
indoors any more.

The February EMPIRE:

scenarios and staged exploration as educational tools.

February 2010 I connected three preparatory arts schools through a
longer workshop called The Empire. The Empire was created in
discussions, and practical work in different materials. The materials
and the stories, which were created at each site, were then presented
to the next school and students there. The different results formed
an empire of three eras:
The Beginning – Renessansen – Age of Monuments.
This work is now the basis for various lectures and
continuing workshops held in different schools.
The result have
been presented and used in various schools and lectures.

imperiets växande klasskillnader började missnöjet ta sig form
bland teologerna.
Indoktrineringen började redan i snöflingans begynnelse. ”

Students on stage.
Lectures are happenings, where different thoughts and questions are acted out
The students transforms and becomes participants in a happening that takes them away from the school and in to the realm of art.
